Serving Those Who Serve Their Communties

From man’s historic first powered flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in 1903, to the latest stealth fighter technology, the pioneering and innovative spirit of Orville and Wilbur Wright and Glenn H. Curtiss has lived on through the Curtiss-Wright Corporation.

During the late 1930’s, Curtiss-Wright was recognized as one of the leaders in aircraft technology, with the P-36 Hawk being the most advanced fighter in the Army Air Corps. With war clouds gathering over Europe and Asia, foreign aircraft designers pushed technology to where P-36 performance was eclipsed. The United States needed “something out ahead.” The P-36 airframe was mated to an Allison engine and a Curtiss electric propeller and the famous P-40 Warhawk was born!

Today, Curtiss-Wright Flight Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation, continues to be in the forefront of aerospace technology. A designer and manufacturer of quality actuation products for aircraft that include the F-22 (the most advanced stealth fighter in the world), F-16, F-18, F-14, Space Shuttle, V-22, Black Hawk, Sea Hawk, C-5, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, L1011 etc., Curtiss-Wright Flight Systems has won several prestigious awards from its customers.

It is this history, reputation and dedication to quality which brought you the...
Power Hawk P-16 Rescue System!

Extremely powerful and uniquely versatile, the Power Hawk P-16 Rescue System is unlike any other rescue tool in the marketplace. The first all-electric (no hydraulics) “jaws” type rescue tool, the Power Hawk utilizes the technology from the Curtiss-Wright Power HingeTM, a compact high-performance gearbox developed for demanding flight control applications. The Power HingeTM is used in commercial and military aircraft, including the F-16 Fighting Falcon’s leading edge flap drive.

Lightweight, compact size and high output force are the key ingredients shared by aircraft actuation products and rescue tools. By eliminating hydraulics completely and utilizing 12 Volts DC power, the versatility of Power Hawk has revolutionized the way Fire and Emergency Services personnel go about rescues.
