As a Rosenbauer America Dealer we have been given several opportunities, but none as interesting and potentially worth while as this. In 2007 two Firefighters from Minnesota were sent to Moldova by the Minnesota Fire Chiefs Association. While visiting with some firefighters in a local 1950’s fire station, Ron & Mark could see their lack of critical fire fighting equipment. Their turnout gear consisted of old rubber raincoats, there weren’t enough helmets for each firefighter, and they shared five air packs between eighty-five firefighters. They also got to see the 1960’s vintage equipment that they use on a daily basis. When they came back to the States they developed their plan to help these brave firefighters. They established the IFRM 2007 or the International Fire Relief Mission. Their purpose is to try and provide equipment to fellow firefighters world wide in need. They have the support from the Minnesota Fire Chiefs Assoc. on this project, as well as companies like Northwest Airlines, Rosenbauer and Lion Apparel. OK, so how do we help? What we are asking for is used equipment that your fire department would no longer need but would be a world of improvement over what these firefighters have now. For them to have their own helmets and turnout gear is a dream come true. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please call our office and we will make arrangements to pick-up your donation and send it to Ron & Mark. We will list your Fire Department on our website as a donor and all donations are 100% tax deductible as allowed by law. By recycling your equipment or apparatus you are helping firefighters that otherwise would have nothing...
